How to share a document from Google Docs in preview mode

What is Google Docs or Google Drive?

Well, the main thing is to say that these two are one and the same. Google Drive it's what was once known only as Google Docs. And the reason for the name change was due to a merger done by Google Docs.

It is one of the best alternatives to use or properly use Microsoft Office online for free in case you don't have access to it.

It was an office suite like Office, which allows you to create documents, spreadsheets and slides from any browser, which can be created and assembled online.

This was merged in 2012 with Drive, which is an online storage system that lets you save all kinds of stuff to the cloud. Thanks to this, Google Drive was born with all the functions it has today, 15GB of free storage in the cloud or the ability to share a Google Docs document in preview mode.

Best of all, it allows us to work cooperatively and in real time. Being able to grant permissions to other people so they can not only view but even edit your documents.

With this, it is possible to work in a team without all people being in the same job, region or even country. It also eliminates compatibility issues, as you can create documents of all kinds, on any device, from anywhere, the only requirement being the internet.

Furthermore and as if the above were not enough, it is possible to create specific folders to save the documents. These will not be lost if the device you were working on crashes or becomes corrupted .

You can easily share a document from Google Docs in preview mode

Well, if the truth is that it is possible, you just have to create a link to share the document and then edit it to limit it in the way that suits you best. To be able to share a Google Docs document in preview mode only, the first thing to do is right-click on the desired document.

Then we give the call option "Get Links to Share" , another window will appear in which we must press " Permissions ". Here another section will open where you can choose who will access your document.

Also, click on the option that is right there called "Any user with the link can". This is the section that will allow you to discriminate, if you want it to be viewed only, if it can be edited or if you can comment.

There is also to finish there is an option called " Other ". There you can when you want to deactivate the link so that someone who does not have permissions cannot even see it.

      one last trick

Finally, a little trick that literally means that the document is preview only and can't even be downloaded as a PDF.

This consists of opening the document in first "Preview Mode". We do click your " Share ", right there in that section that will appear, we click on "Get link to share" , it will give us our URL and we will copy and then paste it into whatever editor we have.

Here we're going to edit that and change how the end of our link ends, which would be "edit?usp=sharing", for option or command" Preview ", which means preview. And voila, with this we can share a Google Docs document in preview mode as easy as turning on dark mode in Google Docs documents.
